The OnePlus 10 Pro’s 5G situation in the US is quite odd, and you should know the details before you pull the trigger. Its situation varies from one carrier to the next.

The OnePlus 10 Pro’s 5G situation in the US is interesting

T-Mobile is the only US carrier that sells the phone, so you’d expect it to offer great 5G support. Well, it does. The OnePlus 10 Pro will work on low-band and mid-band 5G, if you have a T-Mobile SIM inside. T-Mobile’s mid-band is the carrier’s strong point, so those are great news.

What about Verizon? Well, according to CNET, the company is still working to certify the OnePlus 10 Pro to work on low and mid-band 5G. So, chances are it’ll get good support, but maybe not before its release on April 14. Also, do note that the OnePlus 10 Pro does not support 5G mmW in the US, so you won’t be able to take full advantage of what Verizon has to offer.

If you’re an AT&T user, well, you’re out of luck, at least when it comes to 5G. You won’t be able to get 5G on AT&T with the OnePlus 10 Pro at all. It seems like OnePlus doesn’t want to get the OnePlus 10 Pro certified with AT&T 5G. You will be able to take advantage of 4G LTE, though.

T-Mobile is your best bet, while Verizon is an option as well

So, there you have it. If you’re planning on using 5G, T-Mobile is your best bet, of course, as the phone is being sold via that carrier. You will get Verizon 5G support soon, though not 5G mmW. If you’re really set on buying the OnePlus 10 Pro and using 5G, you’ll want to avoid AT&T.

It would be ideal if the OnePlus 10 Pro worked with all carriers without a hitch, but that’s not the case. You can still use 4G LTE with all three carriers without a problem, though, so for most, that won’t be a big deal, unless you’re future-proofing.

The OnePlus 10 Pro launched globally yesterday, a couple of months after its launch in China. The company launched a single flagship smartphone this time around, we didn’t get the vanilla version.

This handset is quite powerful. It comes with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, a 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO2 Fluid AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a large battery. It also supports 80W (65W in the US) wired charging, and 50W wireless charging.

There are also three fairly capable cameras on its back, while Android 12 comes pre-installed, along with OxygenOS 12.1. Click here for more spec info. You can also already pre-order the device.
